Any real data out there. Logged at the same time on the same car. Not just opinions?

It's pointless....

This week I made 3 back to back pulls with a car that was at 12.6:1 on every one of the pulls. On the first the NBs wavered around 860-870mV, on the second pull they started in the 890s and made it to the 915s, by the third pull they were reading 910s-920. These pulls had 4-10mins rest between them with fans on the car. I made note of this to try and impress the same thing on the owner of the car. This is not what they are for unless you are looking for mid-high 14s. This is not just an opinion.... away from stoich they are no good except as a vague reference.

This is part of why I want to see them for myself. Every pull I make gives the exact same consistant, repeatable, adjustable, NB02 reading.

Any logs out there. I am not interested in why it wont work. I just want to see the data.

I can't say you can get any data from them other than >14.7 or <14.7 even though the voltage might vary that is because they are a very digital device.

The range for >14.7 is all the way from 1 v to 550mv. 450 mv to 0 is <14.7.

You could construct a model to show the real AFR based from those stats. The problem is that the farther you want to deviate from 14.7 the more error you get!

I did this, I posted it a year or three back. I found there was an awful
lot of "fog" around the correlation-line, enough to make the NB voltage
pretty worthless for detailed tuning. Even same car, same day, same
log did not show me the level of consistency I want.

Then you will need the data from the actual car. There is too much variation in NB02 output from exhaust temp to use any info from other cars.

Jimmy. Actually you did a very good experiment.

Notice how the slope between 15.39 and 12.95 is the same and how outside that the slope is different? That is the max you can deviate from 1λ and still assume the equation to be linear.

Just the numbers that the factory uses.
I am sure a Bosch datasheet should show increased error outside of those bounds.

If you limit your window of operation then you can use the NB sensors. Only if.

This is very close to what I am looking for. Can you post the data from sheet 2 and 3. Most of this is done at an afr of 15. Do you have any more around the 13-12 range? Like column "b" in the afr range of 13-12.

Thanks

Question for you guys.

When I floor it my nb02 starts at .89 and by max rpm .88.
After the shift it goes back to .89 and again leans out to .88 at max rpm.

This is always the case. So is the AFR actually leaning out up top? Or is the reading changing because of the increase in EGT?

And if the EGT causes a change why don't I see a differant nbo2 reading on the 5th pull than on the first?

You could in theory go get an FPGA board and turn it into a custom NB controller yourself.

But you are very limited to a narrow AFR range plus whatever error the sensor has in general.

I am not sure the factory looks at the voltage at all other than how much time it spends on either side of 550-500mV
Which I believe they call Bias Voltage.

Eric, not sure if you are aware of this or not, but Innovate recently developed a plug in that allows you to view Predator logs side by side with logs from any Innovate WB.

Check their website for more details, but I am thinking this is exactly what you are looking for.

Thanks
Mike

Or for only a few dollars more he could have a full tuning suite such as HP Tuners or EFILive

Well, he already has a Predator, and needs a wideband, so....

Here is a link to the plug-in:

Weird, I don't see where he says he has a Predator, do you work for them or something and just know he's a customer?

yes, "sprayjunkie" is Diablosport Tech Support, and ericwilloughby is a gto owner who also posted this same question/request over at the ls1gto forums... and yes, eric owns a Predator... we've both chatted with him quite a few times regarding tuning with it...

Sorry guys, I'm new to how this site works and I wasn't subscribed to my own thread. WTF. And I don't have my sig up yet that says what I have and run.

I've got almost the exact same graph.. I'll try to dig it up somewhere. I've been meaning to go back and do an uncertainty anaylsis on it just for kicks.
