Default Logging - what to buy

I have an older 166 mhz laptop - I want to log my LS1 converted to a H/C LS6 motor. I have a Predator for tuning LTFTs, PE etc. and don't really want to get into anything more complicated. I'm not trying to get the last .1 hp. What can I buy to give me the best cost effective way of logging the critical data that I need to do this? if it is something like autotap, hptuners or efilive please tell me which version I need.

Thanks and I'm sorry for if you think I'm not searching this subject. I do search but I'm not finding a brief / good solution.

EFILive has a Scan only version of there V1 cable for $249. It is a VERY good scanning and logging program and can be upgraded to scan and tune via Email. Can also be used to record up to about 25 minutes of data with out a laptop.

Well you've made a friend. Thanks for the reply.

I'm thinking what I need to do next is go to the efilive website and look for their $249 kit. I have been there before and saw the cable for sale but just couldn't make the mental connection to using a cable for data logging. Apparently there's more to it than the name would imply.

I don't think your laptop would meet the minimum requirements for most if not all current LS1 scanners out there including efilive, autotap or hptuners.

All of these require at least a 300-400mhz processor if im not mistaken.
