Default LT1 scanning question

Let me start by saying that I did a search and I have read other post but I am left confused by what diagnostic scanned I can purchase for my 1995 Vette LT1. Every scanner that I have looked at (on line and in stores) are for 1996 and newer cars. What gives?

I am just looking for a scanner that can point out error codes and clear codes if need be.

Any help would be great.
Thanks
Marc

If the '95 vette is the same as the '95 F body it has an OBDII port, but OBDI programming. If yours is the same you can get an OBDI scanner and use a jumper between the scanner/DLC connector to make it work. Shoebox has a link on his site on which pins to use, I'll post a link to if you need it.

Just re-read my post and sounds confusing...here's shoebox's link if you have the OBDII connector and OBDI PCM: http://shbox.com/1/xraycable.jpg

The 94-95 Corvettes and 95 F-bodies had OBD1 computers but OBDII connectors.

AutoXray, for example, sells a special blue connector cable for use with their OBD1 scan tools and the OBD1 computer OBDII connector cars.
