Default please need your opinion on tune

hi guys, got my car, stock 2001 b4c camaro dynotuned last week .well the plugs were bad and should have changed them before i went. i know, stupid. anyway i changed the plugs (they were original 54,000 miles)the tuner was able to get the timing from 23 to 26 degrees.he said this was probally a 15 rwhp gain.i don't know but it feels much better.also i heard a stock ls1 with no headers or cam that 26 degrees is in the ballpark.ran a 12.88 with bad plugs, 3400 converter and mt radials.going back friday to the track.what kind of time should i drop in your opinion?last 60 ft. was 1.72.

That all just sounds weird. Had your car dyno tuned with bad plugs. Tuner said the timing increase "was probably a 15 HP gain." Did it not show a 15 HP gain?
Bad plugs, was it mis-firing? If so, it shouldnt have even been tuned. 26 deg is in the ballpark. In the ballpark doesnt mean its optimized, which is the whole idea behind dyno tuning.
Dont understand how bad the plugs were if it ran a 12.88 with a 1.72 60. 54K miles doesnt mean they are bad. As for what it will run after your tune, its damn hard to say with no concrete gains reported from the dyno. You may have gained 10. You may have gained 25. Without numbers, its all speculation.

your correct sir. it was misfiring at around 5300 r.p.m. so he left the timing at 23 degrees. i still got 24 rwh and 30 ft lbs. torque on the dyno.the next day i pulled the plugs and they were really bad.put new ones in and brought it back yesterday and he put the timing at 26 with no misfire but couldn't get any more timing than that.and no i didn't re dyno it.just curious how much i might have gained from what he did .thank you.appreciate it.

3 deg might not be worth anything. might be a couple hp, but once you hit the sweet spot, 2 or 3 either way doesnt make a ton of HP. It usually just means the dif between KR or no KR.
