Default Please check this tune out.

I think I'm close if not ready to start trying to tune my MAF... been trying to get the VE perfect for quite a while and learning... I've tried smoothing out my rough-looking map and the car loses performance, so I guess it's supposed to look all crazy jagged, but just wanted other opinions.

I've been looking for a clear concise method to tune MAF, have found a few different methods that I will try to figure out unless someone has a link.

Thanks,
Tom

uh oh.... I'll try re-uploading... Do I need to zip up all my tables and whatnot? I just pulled the .tun files from my EFIlive tunes folder.

Thanks for looking.

I do not see anything either. You should be able to just copy the tune file. Is this from EFILive?

Default trying again

here they are again in case there was a translation error going from PC to Mac to Ls1tech. I also zipped up my Maps folder in case that is needed... these are straight out of my "tunes" folder.

Thanks for the help. And yeah I am running EfiLive V1 and Lc-1

Default one other thing...

also, I noticed my main window is kinda hidden in that tune, if you hit window>cascade inside efilive it will display it.

Thanks!

Bye smoothing, i assume you mean using the "smoothing" feature in EFI LIve ya?

I generally stay away from that button, get the VE dialed in so all cells are correct, sometimes they look funky, but if everything is correct smoothing will just mess it up again

Cool. That's what I've discovered too. Can you also check if I have my air/egr front cats properly disabled and whatnot? I have those removed from the car.

Any other tips would be appreciated too, like if I need to do anything to tranny pressure, abuse management, torque management, etc...

Looks good as far as the DTC's. Do you have a TC?

So what exactly is done to the car in question? Judging by the sig, it looks like stock internals with a few bolt-ons. If that's the case, a VE tune is quite a bit of overkill in my opinion. Fueling shouldn't be off by more than 6~8%, which is well within the range of correction for the fuel trims. All you really need to worry about is where the AFR is under PE. Anything more on a stock~ish car is a waste of time (and nerves).

Default yeah that's mainly it in the sig...

EGR/AIR!, ORY, No traction control or electronic throttle control... doing heads and cam next year and I just mainly want to make sure with the tune I'm doing it all right and to see what else I could/should do - eg. tranny, abuse management, torque management, etc...

thanks!

On a stock-internals motor, I still say you're splitting hairs. Get the AFR dialed in and if you have time, play with the WOT timing on a dyno a little to find what it likes.
