Getting full knock retard, 12-15 WOT timing, F/R Knock codes
I dont know what the hell is going on with my car...but i dont think its a problem ive had sorted out since i got the ls1 swapped in my car. My car is very down on power but seems to run fine and im trying to figure out why. It dynoed approx 340-350 rwhp on my dynojet....
Autotap logging on my car shows the car to run fine cruising... When i go WOT the car instantly goes maximum knock retard, and it holds 12-16 degrees of timing through 1st/2nd/3rd gear till you let off. The a/f ratio on the car is about 12.0-12.5 across the entire pull. And ive got 2 SES codes, one for front & other for rear knock sensor. Which doesnt make sense, i think they are hooked up and working. It only does this @ wot though, car seems great part throttle...
How much would 12-15 degrees total hurt horsepower?? Id guess 50-60 rwhp?
what do i do here.
Someone told that its possible that its coming from something on the motor touching solid to the frame of the car. I know at WOT the motor torques slightly and the passenger header touches solid with the frame but i never thought it would be a problem.....

found problem, someone unplugged the knock sensors apparently ....i guess bad joke by someone ...the connector under the fuel rail cover was unplugged.

Can you post back your gains from the dyno with your timing Not being pulled now, or at least the difference between w/ and w/out the KR. TIA.

20rwhp, dayum those pesky KR sensors....I had a problem pulling 10*+ of timing as well. Although not on the dyno, at the track where it suffers. First time was a rubbing DSloop, now it is a matter of tuning. I imagine the time in which KR was pulling the timing would have more affect at the track than on a dyno...so I hope.
