Default stock ls1 tuning

how could I tune my stock ls1 to run on racing gas and make power? It's just a weekend toy that I could run on racing gas alone if need be. Call me crazy and redneck but I love the smell of racing gas

I think you would need to bump up the compression some to take advantage of the higher ocatne.

I hear that from some other people as well and was wondering if there is any truth to it. I know more power can be made with more compression but can more power be made w/o more compression (93 vs race gas)

I wouldn't think so.... reason being, I have tuned lots of NA cars, and most of them like about 26deg at WOT. Plenty of them can take 29-30degrees without knocking but just don't make more power. Often times you will a single HP or so, but for the jump from 26 to 30deg to be worth it, it better show me a lot more than a single hp!

Just changing gas will not increase you HP by a noticeable amount. Possibly 1 or 2 HP with timing changes but its simply not worth it.

you could use a small shot of nitrous like a 75 shot and that would be very very safe

Get an OLSD tune to get rid of the O2's, then you could run it, however you will go slower and build a lot of heat in the exhaust unless you cut it severely with lots of 87 octane.
At least you'd get the smell still.
