Default Ecu Swap or can I copy tune

Ok to start this off... Heres what I got going on..

Im building my friends z06 into a stroker. Currently he has a Cam, Longtubes, and a intake. otherwise thats it.

all these parts are going on to my vette so the setup is totally identical.

What I want to know is, Are corvette ecus interchangeable? Like untill I got tuned, could I run his ecu so my car would run good? Mines a 99 and his isa 01?

If thats not possible I have a second question..

Can His tune be copied Onto my ECU.. Keeping In mind this is the identical setup. If so How can I achieve this?

His ECU will not run your car as is, the security system will not let the car run with his VIN programmed in.

While the PCM's themselves are not different, the operating systems are. If i had both PCM's here on my test bench i could build your tune from his tables, but really the best thing for you to do is get it tuned right after the install.

Im really interested in getting his tune only because It would be a solid driving point for now..

I plan on doing more mods soon and would Like to do everything at once..

Anyone willing to copy the tune from his ECU and set it up for mine?

Find someone with HPT or EFI Live. They can download his tune and copy it straight into your pcm. It will be about a 5 to 10 minute job.
