I am looking for a cheap hpp3 programmer so that I can change my fan temp until I need to do a dyno tune. I am going to be installing cam, and long tube headers in the future so I will need a cuatom tune then. I was also wondering would it hurt anything to just wire the fans to a switch? I would rather just by a cheap programmer to do it though. I plan on buying hptuners of efi live later but i wanted to do a few more thing to the car first.

The cheapest route would be get in touch with a friend that has tuning software and buy the license for your car and give them some money for being nice.

hptuners takes 2 credits for fbody ls1 so it would cost 100 + tip.

Or you could figure out a way to wire them up with a switch but I personally wouldn't do that.
