Default get a dyno tune or use hp tuners??

I have a mail order tune from tpis for my ls1 now. I am about to put my 402 in and was figuring on getting a dyno tune. I have to drive 500 miles to do that. Would i benifit from something like hp tuners. My concern is if the dyno tune goes south after a while, i would have to drive another 500 miles to get it retuned. Not something that i have the time for. I have never used anything like hp tuners, but i am a ase master tech, i assume i can figure it out. I have played with some fast units on grand nationals and such. I would assume they are somewhat the same. I could use some input. Thank You.

Get yourself some tuning software (almost any suite will do) and take control of your own destiny. You'll have a lot more fun and be happier in the long run.

I agree, if you really are 500 miles from any experienced LSx tuner, i would say get yourself some software and a wideband and start learning
