Default Question: how to increase knock sensor sensitivity

I don't have my laptop here with me, so I can't look up the specific table name. There are two tables that I remember. They have similar names, but in the help description (hptuners) one refers to a "threshold" and one refers to "gain".

The one that refers to gain, in the stock tune has all 4's in the lower map half, and all 1's in the upper map half. I had bumped the 1's up to 4's also, intending to increase the sensitivity when boosting. But I'm running a lot of timing and not getting any KR, so I need a cross-check on what I did.

Is the 4 more sensitive, or is the 1 more sensitive?

If it was a threshold, clearly the 1 would be. But since it's gain, seems like the 4 would be more sensitive.

The one I changed is called Global Gain. The one I left alone is called Level.

So more gain is more sensitive, right?

Cool.

So now I just need to know if I went in the right direction.

Because a lot of folks thought I was running too much timing under boost.

I got one response on the hptuners forum. There I was told that lower numbers in the "gain" table make the sensor more responsive. Does that sound correct?

Anybody here that can second the opinion that a lower number in the gain table is more sensitive?

the higher the value the more desensitized it is.

Also, I've gone ahead & added that description to our help file for the future.

I think I set mine all to 4, they are pretty much completely off.
