Default misfire question

I hear alot about the ses light coming on and getting a misfire signal, if the light isnt on, and your driving the car, is it extremely clear if the car's misfireing?, just wondering how extreme it sounds, thanks.....

Default Re: misfire question

With mine you cant tell if it is "misfiring", but mine comes form the cam, not a bad coil pack like your asking about!

Yours sounds much like a bad coilpack, the audible, thump in an otherwise smooth idle. It is from the cylinder filling with a/f, being compressed but no spark, then the occasional weak spark=kathump with that "miss." After you swapped wires its stil there, and bet you swap coilpacks, and it moves to the new cylinder.

Again most misfire signals are from cars with cams, not bad coilpacks, plugs or wires.
