Default VATS bypass box??

So how would you make a VATS bypass box?? I see them on ebay...but know that they can be made for somewhere near $10...

Radio Shack used to sell what they call the "Engineer's Mini-Notebooks". Look for the one with the 555 Timer IC Projects. I *think* all you need is a 50 Hz pulse circuit.

Can't you just disable it? NM, I thought it was an option in the programming mode.

Not for $10. You can only disable it with LS1 edit for $550. You can satisfy it for $10 by sending the PCM a 50 Hz 5 volt square wave. There are programmers who will disable it for you for about $75. Clint Eastwood once said " a man has got to know his limitations".

I measured the resistance in my key and soldered a series of resistors to match it. Then I soldered that into place under the dash. Cost less than $5 for the resistors.
