Default installed slp maf,now running rich

i thought the slp 85mm mafs were supposed to not require retuning but now instead of my usual mid 12.xx peak tq and around 13.0 peak hp it is 10.8-11.3 or so. what gives ?
thanks,mark

SLP Mafs do not require retuning on a completely stock LS1.

With the mods you have, and i would imagine the tuning you have, that MAF is going to throw everything off and really is not going to make you any gains once it is retuned for it, if i were you i would stick with the stock MAF

well i was just wishing/hoping i could pick up alittle hp. i got an 85 mm lid and that maf thinking maybe my stocker with nx maf ends on it was slightly restrictive at my hp level and i could pick up alittle. i've searched and didn't find any solid answers if it would improve or not so i went ahead and got it.

That's a pretty large error, perhaps there is another
reason (like cat overtemp protection?) for it. I had
an SLP MAF on there for a while and it didn't whack
the mixture that much.

I think you'd be well ahead using a descreened stocker
over a screened SLP 85mm. Screen is the real
restriction.

yeah,it is a big difference. i didn't check timing to see if i was on a different table now or not. the maf i had was a stocker with nx maf ends and no screen, i put on the slp with no screen also, screen went directly in the trash can.i may just put the stocker back on for now and hit up the dyno soom and do a back to back test with retuning to get same a/f to personally see if there is a difference or not that way i can actually know if a stocker can support 525 rw without being a restriction.

This is relative, though they do not report the same as the OEM piece with or without the resistor.
