Angry PCM port does not seem to be working at all!

Thanks for reading, I could use some help.

My car is giving me issues, I have an SES light on and I went to Advance auto to use an engine scanner but it didn't work. I turned on the car with the scanner in and set it up to work with my 2000 SS A4 but it did nothing. I retried plugging everything back up and resetting the scanner but nothing happened, it kept saying to plug the scanner in. I went into the store and asked if the scanner was working and they said it was and maybe my car's plug is not functioning. I then gave up on that scanner and went a town over to try another Advance Auto scanner and theirs did the exact same thing. So I have come to the conclusion that the port is bad or something, but I don't know what to do about it and I still don't know what my SES light is telling me. I've gotten codes from the port before but it's just giving me issues now and I don't really know what to do besides buying a new port or something.

Check your fuses. I think it's on the same circuit as the cigarette lighter.

You were right on the dot, the fuse was popped and I replaced it. I'll go check the port tomorrow and see if it works.

Thanks!
