Default leaving wideband o2 installed when not using it?

i have an LM1 unit and have the sensor installed in the y pipe, with the cables running above the heat shields, into the engine compartment, and through the firewall on the pass side where all of my nitrous lines and wiring are routed. i have everything tucked behind the glove box so that i can just pull it down, pull out the wires and hook up the box to be ready to go. i haven't driven the car very much since installing it because i need to retune it, but am i going to ruin that sensor by leaving it in the exhaust without it being powered all the time? i only really plan on using it when i'm tuning, or spraying.

If you are going to leave it in, you need to make sure it is always powered on when the engine is running.
If you want to leave it on the car, you might consider pulling it out, zip tying it to the chassis, and putting the plug back in the bung.

Yeah you need to keep it powered up. This is a great excuse to get a digital A/F meter and acutally use the WB all the time even if you are not tuning.

I have mine powered on all the time the engine is running. It has been in for a couple of years.
