on a 2000 camaro with LTs can you plug the front o2s into the rear plugs and program the computer to run off of bank 2?

You could repin the wiring harness at the pcm connector....

no didnt do that, I been have problems with my car running right and the guy working on it said that he pluged the front o2s from the front into the back and and switch it so that the ecu reads from the backs. And the car seems to be running a lot better but I was just wondering how that was working he said it was a temp. fix to make sure that the front wiring is what is bad.

Software-wise it is possible but unless he works for GM and has intimate knowledge of the PCM --- I would say no.

If you know what pins to swap in the VCM it might take 15 minutes to do. I'd consider that a permanent fix though unless you need cats and rear O2's.

I'd check and make sure that the B1S1 and B2S1 SES light isn't disabled in the PCM...

Normally this CAN NOT be done (without re-pinning), I've never once heard of this being done in software although that doesn't mean it can't be done...

I'd check your DTCs and see whats enabled/disabled pertaining to your O2s! How does the car run now?

There are people out there who can do it. It just takes an astronomical amount of work unless you have all the header files and know what variable is defined to what memory location.

It is just easier to swap the wiring and use normal O2's without extensions.

Basically, if you plug in rears only it won't do anything to the car. The car will run on its own programming with no correction from the O2s.

If the car is programmed ok its no problem. I have been running for two years without O2s because I know it is programmed safely.
