Default What would cause my interior light fuse to keep blowing out

In my 99 Z-71? Information center shows "Cargo Light On" But it's not on. Under the hood, I found the fuse, and changed it, but it keeps blowing out as soon as you put it in. What's the deal?

I'd say you have a short circuit from the cargo lamp to the frame somewhere, like the insulation worn off from rubbing on something. Have you ever modified the truck wiring in any way?

The truck has a 3" body lift on it, and the only other alterations are the remote starter.

It just seems odd that when the fuse blows, the cargo lamp on light would come on. I just put a fuse in there, and all the lights are working fine, but I know once I get moving, it will blow.

I'll have to start trying to track it down, before the truck catches on fire from a short.

I'll recheck all the grounds first. Are they all the same as the F-body? By the Alt, and on the back of the heads?
