I just installed a new engine/trans/aps kit on my car and am ready to fire it up. I have no scan tool or device to check out my vitals. One of my buddies has HPTuners that he uses to tune his car. I am wondering if we can use this to hook up to my car on the initial fire just to check the vitals and such? Here's the kicker. His car is an 02' and he only has credits for all 02's. My car is a 99'. So obviously he cant tune with it but will we still be able to view the vitals and such or do we need 99' credits? Thanks!

should be able to scan w/o credits or licence. To tune you need licence. You can check all vitals in the scanner.

He should be able to scan your vehicle and even read the tune off of the vehicle without using any credits.
