Default SES code, P0430 just after last weeks P0161

i know someone here can help me.

my 02 SS threw a hard code P0161, bank 2, sensor 2,
so i put a new 02 sensor on passenger side after the cat.
SES light went out shortly after restart.

drove car to/from work all last week and sunday
the SES comes on again. Stays on. This time
I get P0430, Bank 2,
I reset and it coded the next day on cold start up.

My question is: Is P0161 the 02 sensor before the cat
on the passenger side ?

Why would the two fail within a week ? Coincidence ?

heres how it is

bank 1 is driver side
bank 2 is passenger side
sensor 1 is before the cat
sensor 2 is after the cat.

the problems is, is that a P0430 is your bank 2 converter having a problem. the HO2S bank 2 sensor 2 is always monitering the converter to see if it is working properly. in your case you have a problem. if you dont have any engine mods, i can reaplace this under warrenty, but you have to tell me all of your mods. i also work here in corpus so you would have to make the trip and we will probably have to order the part. let me know.

thanks for the info. Munday chev here put in a complete new LS1 at 35,805 miles under warranty do to excessive piston slap. 4 cylinders out x .002 top to bottom.

i guess i have no choice but to take it in and probably shouldn't have replace the #2 sensor, P0161 bank 2, sensor 2, cause it appears now the problem is more widespread since now i have the P0430

really, thanks for taking the time to reply
