Default Predator Newbie

I received my Predator today and have done some very basic tuning.
My mods are as follows. (Bought the car 2 weeks ago, so a short list for now)
K&N
Flowmaster

I have installed the "generic" tune and modified as follows:
FAN1 ON 200
FAN1 OFF 195
FAN2 ON 210
FAN2 OFF 205
Power Enrichment default
Spark default
Normal Shift Time default
Performance Shift Time default
Shift Points MPH default
Shift Points RPM default
Shift Pressure +15%, +15% +15%
Rev Limit On default
Rev Limit Off default

I have not changed any other settings as i have crappy fuel in right now. (wife filled with cheap gas)
At this point, my 1-2 shift produces about 3 deg of knock retard, O2's at 900-910.

My questions are:
#1. For a stock T-Stat, are these settings ok? Any change needed?

#2. Trans shift rimness, Too much? Will it cause any damage? Need changing?

Sorry for my newb questions, but i catch on quick!

Thanks for anyone who replies!!!

Jeremy,
you are a little rich 885 to 890 is best. when you get good 93 oct in it look at it again, and if your KR is gone you can adust and play with it, if not try removing a little spark and go from there. with your car as stock as it is, you should be 0.00 all day. Pm me if need by.
BTW the rest of your settings look ok, I have a 160 due to the heat in the south, you may want to go with a 180 and drop 5 deg of each setting on your fans, this will help a bit if it is true KR.

The knock retard may be from the Torque Management, it pulls timing at the shifts to keep the trans alive, so they say.

You can lower the temps, even without the T-stat it will still help.

Lower shift time and get quicker shifts. I have mine -25 time, and +25 pressure. Nice and snappy at WOT, and better than normal at Part Throttle. I run mine spraying thru the shifts, 150shot and have been for a little while. No problems.

I thought i understood James at RWTD as far as the Predator removes the Torque mgmt..?? but i do still wonder if it is knock from the shift.

I have moved the shift time to -15% all the through the gears and have the firmness set at 15% higher all gears..

I am afraid of hurting anything is my problem. Can someone tellm e what the "Power Enrichment" option is?

PE is used to raise or lower your AF ratio at WOT. It is supposed to have an adjustable area of 1.5:1 up or down from default. If you wideband a 12.0:1 then add 5% in PE you shuold in theory be at 10.5:1, thats rich. And opposite, 13.5:1 if you minus 5% PE, being a little leaner than optimum AF performance wise.

I have like 4 tunes from James and until this last one, the TM still kicked in. Do not delete COT if your have Cats.

I wouldn't draw any conclusion until you're
back on a full tank of the gas you intend to
run. I think your O2s are in a good place,
if you made PE a little fatter it might cover
up the KR but good gas might make it unnecessary.

don't mean to come in on your thread but I have a few questions for Predator users. I am thinking about getting the Predator. The main things I need/want to do is adjust timing, delete TM, and all the other things the Hypertech does so I can just sell mine to help pay for the Predator. For these few things how easy would it be for a first time user? My car is only bolt-ons and will most likely stay that way for a while. Is it worth it to me to get the Predator? The main thing I NEED to do is delete TM.

TIA

I think it is worth it. If you have a good vendor, it makes it easier. Once you go needing custom tunes, you may have to wait to get it. Much like any other tuning, if you provide the necessary data, it is good to go. First time users, well, I am trying to help as much as I can everyone using the 'P'. I have a few custom files, and have tried different things going thru my vendor, james sales@runninwiththedevil.com and he has been real thorough with what i need to provide him as well what the tunes contain. It works for my cam only car, and soon hopefully will test it out on a H/C/I car. Besides the data monitoring is a really nice tool.

Charlie.

I have a quick question. I have the predator and I used it to change my gears from 2.73 to 3.73's and my speedometer is still 5-10mph off. Should I change the gear setting to like a 3.80 gear to see if it get it a little closer to where it needs to be??

kansas, you can try a different gear selection, sometimes that what it will take. Also, the speedometers in our cars do vary. I was clocked at 76mph and my cruise was set on, and speedo reflected 70mph. So, guess its kinda like the engine temp gauge, it is a reference, not an absolute. But I would try another gear, and if not working, get ahold of vendor.

My speedo is to the MPH with what my predator says.
Maybe his radar was off and you were not speeding

Isnt the predator going off the same speed sensor as the speedo?? I paced a friend of mine whos speedometer was 5mph slower than what mine would read stock and I go 10-15 mph faster than him (speedometer wise) to go the same speed.
