What year/make/model vehicle do you own? This will help determine your options.

You've got full tuning suites such as ours which start at around $499 but require a laptop however you'll have full control over 300+ engine & transmission parameters including performing gear changes not to mention an advanced scan tool which can be used on hundreds of vehicles.

You also have a limited amount of handheld programmers most of which can do the gear change however with your vehicle being a 98 not all handheld companies offer something.

Of course you always have mail order or dyno tuning available as well.

cheapest would be to contact wait4me performance, a sponsor here, and have him program your pcm.

Or find somebody local with efilive and have them flash it, since all efi live cables do not require a license for 98 cars.
