Default LS1 Edit Cable

One of the vehicles that I was sharing the cable with has been totaled in an accident. What are the options to continue to use this cable? How much is it to have the cable sent back and reset? Can I use the other vehicles PCM, in another vehicle? I know I can use a 99 PCM in a 00, but if this PCM craps on me, the vehicle with the VIN no longer exists, so would this prevent me from getting another PCM burned with that VIN I need to use the cable?

You have to be kidding, 28 views and not a single reply. Someone has had to run into this situation.

I'm not worried about the cost. I just don't want to spend money on a PCM, and find out that down the road it dumps and I can't do jack because the vehicle doesn't exist any longer, and then have to shell out more money.
