Default Tuning? for high compression on a daily driver

Found a set of very good heads for a very good deal, problem is compression will end up being about 11.7:1, question is can that high of compression be tuned safe enough to run daily on 93 octane or am I asking for trouble and should go another route.

Thanks in advance.

If needed the heads are Stage 2 5.3 heads going on a stock LS1 shortblock. The chambers have been milled to 58cc, I dont want to run a thick headgasket and loose quench, since quench dampens detonation.

Has more to do with your dynamic compression. As a rule of thumb, keep your DCR under 8.6 for a pump gas street car. FWIW, my DCR is 8.36:1 and I run it on 93 pump gas everytime.

depend's on your tuner. I run 8.9 DCR and 11.6 SCR and run on 93 octane all day, with 0 knock. Just make sure you have a good tuner, and you should be just fine.

For me to retain a 8.6-8.7 DCR I will have to have a cam that has a intake vavle closing at 70 degrees ABDC, but I cant find any cam specs to see if 70 degrees ABDC is even close to correct, any ideas on a somewhat average range would be???

Also it says the LSA has alot to do with it but dosen't factor it in on the calculator I am using.
