Is this a 3 or 4 channel ABS system? If it is a 3ch I would check the electrical connector on top of the pumpkin to see if it is plugged in and or cracked, dammaged.

If it's a gear change and a 3-channel, was the ABS
reluctor put onto / present on the new ring / carrier?

its a 1999 ws6 don't know to much about the set up but the mechanic said he finished in the dark so I thought it might be a wire not plugged somewhere but I don't know where to start looking .

If you don't have ASR/TCS it's 3 channel, check the sensor connector on top of the pumpkin like said. If you have ASR/TCS it's 4 channel, check the sensor connectors at each rear wheel.
