Accel 30# injector Question vs Stock.....
Ok, I got the whole injector sizing formula and all that, but I was just told that the 30#injectors from Accel are actually 30# inj in our cars? WTF, I thought they are rated on the industries 3bar standard Static(43.5psi) and a sales rep from Mr Gaket has told my tuner (from Predator) that the factory rates our injectors at 3bar as well. meaning the 26# in my car are rated 26# at only 43.5psi and thus handle more at our pressure. Anyone know if this is true or is the Sales guy at Accel a little confused? I hope he is, although I got mine for free, i would hate to not really need these, but even bigger ones. Dayum it.
I am hoping that these Accel 30#inj, act more like 34 or 36# whatever the math says they are!
TIA,
Charlie.

Get rid of the accel injectors asap. I have had nothing but bad luck with them - locking up under positive manifold pressure, inconsistent flow, etc. You will be much better off with either your stockers or some cheap SVO 30's.

The accel 30's are the same as the SVO 30's only the accels are balanced. In our cars with the higher pressure the 30's work out to like 36's.

Oh and as a side note, on my car I changed nothing on edit for the 30's-with all the mods they worked out perfectly. My average LTFT's are like -1.

Ok, well I guess I can swap them run it, if it is crappy, then I will pull them back out, untune the predator and reinstall stockers with custom tune #4.
Thanks to both of you.
Charlie.

Can you provide anything to back that up? I do not believe they are the same - they seem to have different spray patterns (SVO's are a tighter cone shape than the Accel's. I also have never had problems with SVO injectors, but I have had *tons* with accel injectors.

Assuming you weren't very negative on your ltrims before then that just means the injectors aren't flowing any more than your stock injectors.
Charlie: Sorry - don't know what pressure the accel's are rated at - so can't answer your qeustion directly!

Looking on their web it shows they flow 29.4 at 2 bar (43.5psi) so I just figured it would be like the SVO inj where the # rating increases with the Fuel Pressure.
