Drive by wire to cable throttle
I am trying to help a buddy get his 55' Chevy truck running. It has a 98 vette' motor and PCM but has a cable throttle body on it. What do I need to change in the tune to make this work, if possable. Also, right now it won't show a TPS position when I scan it, is that related? I'm using HP Tuners. Thanks.

Need to change the operating system to a cable operated OS, i would flash it as a 98 Camaro. That should get it up and running but if it still does not show TPS% you may need to troubleshoot that circuit.

I had a feeling of that. Is that something the dealer has to do, or will the HP Tuners do it? Can I just download a stock file from their tune repository and use it? Any special instructions for doing that if so? Thanks.

DID they run the extra wiring needed for the TPS sensor and IAC motor into the vette harness? If not, then you are going to have issues.
And im not sure if the other software can do that, but a dealer can for sure. Efilive does a whole write also of different files without failures.

The harness is actually a Painless harness, so yes the plugs are there for the TPS and IAC. I sent HP Tuners an e-mail and it sounds like I can write any tune into the PCM as long as I have it liscenced also. So I'm going to start with putting my friends 2000 SS tune in it, and see what happens.
