0342 Code Help
Hi guys......need some help here..!!!!
Was having trouble starting my 99 LS1, scanned and found the 0342 code. Cleared the code and the start returned to normal, for about a day, then came back with the same starting issue. Cleared again and start was normal. It continues to return as described. I have checked the connector to sensor and all looks well. Is this likely the sensor, PCM or wiring issue..?? Not looking forward to pulling intake to swap sensor if i dont have to..!!! What are your thoughts.??
Thanx in advance for your suggestions..!!! DK

I too am having this problem, i have traced all 3 wires and looked for a break. no problems there. replace sensor and the harness plug. still no tach and p0342 code.
I have heard of cam retaining plate bolts coming loose and letting the cam walk foward.
When i originally did my cam swap 1 of the stock plate bolts was loose. after the cam install i lock tighted them. thats the only option that is left for me. take it for what its worth. im gonna have to tear the front of the motor down i guess
