Default Tuning Idle and Timing on TR224

This is my problem since i put in my TR224 114LSA. The car starts but it seems like its going to die first but it starts. When put into D it does it again. Idle goes down and seems like its going to die but doesnt. Does it a bit when put into reverse but fine everywhere else. I know this isnt normal and it should idle better with my tuning. The idle and timing i guess need to be tuned better. But to what?

I drilled the TB hole 2 drill bits bigger than stock to get the IAC count down to ~40 and raised the idle to 875 in park and 825 in gear.

unplug the iac motor and see if it still dies. if it doesnt then you need to tweak the iac tables.

i wouldnt drill the hole out, you can get a good idle without that.

Another thing that might help would be to let it idle for a while and warm up some before you take off. Even with PCM tuning, the motor will take a little longer to get runing good after you put a cam in. If you have LS1edit there are a few things you can tweak to get it doing better, though.

800 seems pretty high. How is it runing. Right now mine is set at 700 in gear and 600 in park. 600 is low I want the idle in park a bit higher maybe 650-700. But 700 in gear seems fine to me. 800 just seems to high. Do most of you guys have it like that?

I set my idle high because I do not really care for cam lope. I like a nice smooth idle. Its stealthy! I still run the stock muffler.

My idle is a nice smooth 950! But I'm a M6 guy also. I may drop it to 900 after emissions testing is done next month.

TR224 on 112 w/an A4 and I'm idling pretty smoothly at 700rpm (it'll run at 600 RPM too but I think I drilled my TB hole out too much so it's having a hard time idling that low)

I scaled the VE tables down 75% up to 1200RPM, added 2 degrees timing to base spark in park (and drive?, not sure did it a while ago) up to 1200RPM, disabled COT

Found all the info in this forum and combined a few ideas from different threads... warm or cold, car starts and rarely dies (at 600RPM idle I'd get some cam surge and it would eventually die.. )

I can run at 700 too, but is way easier, all around at 800-825..

My car idles at 1000 in park, 925 in gear. My cam is a beast, so the really idle helps it out. I have the stumble on startup/going into gear thing pretty bad in my car. I have tried every possible thing I can think of with LS1 edit to fix this with very limited success.

Mine is actually at 800. I saw it at 700 right after i did the tune so i think it took a bit for the car to learn it. But yea now its at 800 all around. It was running really good today. I talked to my tuner and he sent me another tune but with the idle set a bit higher for neutral (and park). But because it was running so good today i might not change it. But its good to know I have it if it turns out not soo good. Thanks guys for all you comments and suggestions
