Default EasyLink Question

I hooked up an Easylink code reader to my 2002 WS6 and drove it to Louisiana from Odessa Texas (800 miles). I noticed while whatching the AF Ratio that it says 14.6 while running in closed loop. When I floor the car it says 11.8 or so. Is that what the cars AF Ratio is or is it what the cars computer is trying to achieve? Also, 11.8 or 11.7 seem a little fat to me. With my NX Nitrous system we set the exhaust up to 12.5 to 13.0 using a wideband meter. It seems for best WOT power I would want the car to be running around 12.5 to 13.0 instead of 11.7 (without the Jucies). Should I have the ratio moved from 11.7 to 12.5 or 13.0? Or would that be a major no no? It just looks like there is some extra power there to me and I wanted ya'lls input before I had it done.

That is the AFR that the computer is trying to achieve. 11.8 sounds low, do you have COT enabled?

I do not know what COT is. what I do is I plug the Eazylink up. Then I configure the unit for my car, GM-02. Then I Scan the cars computer. I have no Trouble codes coming up. Then I watch it as I drive. When I have the Cruise control on or when ever the cars computer says it fuel bank one and 2 is in closed loop the computer says the AF Ratio is 14.6 . When I floor the car (WOT) it shifts to 11.8 or 11.7 . when I put the eazylink on my 2001 GMC Sierra 4.8l and do the same thing it says 14.6 in closed loop and I can not remember exactly what it says in open loop but I don't think it is that low. What is the COT? If 11.7 is too low in open loop what should it be and how do I change it?

COT is catalytic converter overtemp...what it does is under "extreme engine" conditions it will add extra fuel to try and cool down the catalytic converters. Otherwise they will get too hot and go out. So if you have removed the catalytic converters, it is a good idea to have this function turned off. More than likely that's what is going on. Hope this helps.

Ok, I do not have the converters removed. So you are probly right. What kind of power gains should I see if I do this?

You can adjust the COT conditions with LS1 Edit

So I would have to by LS1 Edit and a lap top computer? How about the Preditor? And why do you think my COT is coming on all the time during normal driving? And how can I know for sure it is doing that? Like I said before, all I know is when I use my easylink it says my target AF Ratio at WOT is 11.7 .
