Default FAST XFI LS2 T-56 Help

I am currently looking to swap a LS2 and T-56 into a 96 camaro. I was looking at a possible FAST XFI setup but I am unsure its compatibility. From what I understand the FAST XFI is just a stand alone engine controller. My question is how do people use it in a late model f-body and with a t-56. If the controller only is engine managment how do you get vehicle speed since the speed sensor is in the trans, also how do you get reverse lights and reverse lock out powered. I was just wondering if anyone has used the FAST set up with a similar configuration.

you wire the speed sensor to your gauge, aftermarket at least, not sure about using the factory gauge. my car has a 700, so the reverse lights work off the shifter

I've been thinking of going with a Fast XFI setup in my 2000 SS. Its nothing crazy, but the XFI seems to be very simplistic and from what I see, easy to tune, which will be nice since I'm a newbie at it. How do you like the XFI?
I was under the impression you needed the VSS for it to run properly? Or is that only for the stock LSx computer? If so, thats good news cause the speedo I was looking at is a GPS setup.
