You can find them at Autozone for $8, the part number is 85881. Don't ask them to look it up for your car, they will never find it. USE THE PART NUMBER ONLY.

I got my left one at the dealer- checked the ones at Autozone but they didnt look likethey would fit. I cut and spliced the old one and put the new one in and 4 months later still working great. I hear the 01s have problems for some reason. It was almost $100 at the dealer, but the parts guy said if the other side goes out, just keep the receipt and bring it in and he would give me a new one for the otehr side.

You can replace the socket without cutting/splicing anything. That's what I did. Quicker.

How's that? The only reason I've never replaced mine is because I didn't want to cut the wires... I'd really like to fix mine if I don't have to cut anything. I just replace my bulb every couple of months. The plug keeps burning them up.

You can go to O'Reilys and get these sockets for like $3.49 each. 85881 is the part number that they use too. They had two in stock when i stopped the other day and was out of the store with both of them for less than $8.

hey adam2001ws6 how do you replace the socket without cutting and splicing? is it by using the 85881 socket or some other way?

Purchase the the socket from AutoZone (P/N 85881). It's a socket with pigtails. You can carefully take this apart. There are 2 tan tabs on the left and right that push in and thewhole inner socket will pop out. You'll notice there are contacts that have sharp little prongs that connect the contacts one the pigtail wires. Take these out carefully so you don't bend them. All you need to do at this point is put the socket back together but instead of using the new pigtail wires, which would force you to solder or splice them together with the existing wires on the car, you just put it back together using the contacts ALREADY ON THE CAR.

I just bought some di-electric grease and electrical connection cleaner from AutoZone and cleaned the contact ON THE CAR real well and put the contacts ONE THE CAR into the new socket housing and put it back together.

I had to do this bc my pass. side DRL and T/S weren't working. I replaced both DRL/T/S housings also bc mine were cracked.

This was over 3/4 months ago. Never had a problem since.

Let me know if you have any questions.

if your not comfortable buying the ones already mentioned in the previous replies you can try here:

http://www.rockauto.com/
or
http://www.newgmparts.com/partlocato...?siteid=213815

they're gonna cost a lot more than the auto zone brand, but they're exact replacements.

good luck

Always feels great to fix something the right way on your own car doesn't it? Glad it worked out.
