Well they made quite a bit more then 1000 WS6 Trans Am's in 1998.

98 WS6 does not push 345 hp, a firehawk would, but not a stock WS6.

I know this is a dumb question, but what did the firehawk have that the ws6 didnt, performance wise???

ALL LS1's have 345hp, no matter what they are rated. They are all the exact same engine.

^ yes this is correct. i think its fairly special since it only has like 4000 miles on it.

Maybe he meant at the wheels? Maybe hes a newb. Either way, nice article. I saw a long time ago in a mag they tested a 2002 gt. Claimed power was like 230 and observed was only 190+/- at the wheels. It also had intake tune and exhaust. Then they had a trans am with intake and exhaust and it made like 307. Good stuff

Where the hell is he located? Seems to be an export model, maybe thats what he means when he says only 1000 made.

well in his defence up here in canada especially the atlantic provinces its not easy to find a trans am of the 98-02 range in good shape or at all. they are around but still not nearly as common as down in the states. overcharging yes...but still not that common. and not to mention canadian car prices are terrible compared to american hence why importing is usually the way to go for any sports car.
