1998-2002 WS6 cars.
I know people say these cars can hit high 12's stock but has anyone actullay done it or have any proof such as a magazine article or anything? I saw an 01 SS run 12.7 with drag radials in an old online article. Cant find it though. Camaro was red and I remember it was on a Mustang site.

With the right driver, yes they can. My CETA went 12.8xs with a lid and shitty 80 series Flowmaster on Nitto DRs
Below is the article you are talking about

Wow thats pretty impressive. I plan on keeping the car stock for awhile since the miles are only at 22000. Some day I will probably add full bolt ons and a cam.

Can you tell me more about your 12.30 run? What exact mods did you have and with what tire? Was it full weight? Strictly just bolt ons, nothing else?

I troll the "12 second Club" room all the time. I've seen numerous threads of guys running 12.8-12.9's with a lid and cat-back. The majority of them are 2001-2002 cars though. I think its due to the LS6 intake. My brother has an 01' TA and I have a 00'. We have the exact same mods but at the top of third and through fourth he pulls on me. I don't think my weenie LS1 intake can flow enough air to utilize the mods I have. You could have a straw with huge ends on either side, but if you are pinching the middle closed its still gonna be hard to suck through it.

A few years ago, I actually did post a 12.9@109 myself with my full weight stock 02. I was running the factory F1 tires with the rear pressure at 25lbs and the fronts pumped to 35. Hell, I even had the stock exhaust still in place. Mods were limited to an SLP lid with free air mods (including removing the hood baffles), subframe and front strut connectors, 1/4 tank of fuel, and the floor mat removed to prevent it from getting hung up under the throttle. I also disconnected the front sway bar links that day.
All my runs that day were around 13.2-13.3. The air temp was around 62 degrees and the track was very well prepped. the trick for me was to slip the clutch off the line so the tires would not go up in smoke. I guess I had one lucky run, and have never been able to match it.
So yes, it is possible, but it's not a consistant run for a stocker.

The biggest thing holding these car back is traction, and it also doesn't help that the 6 speed cars are usually hitting 4th gear right at the end of the 1/4 mile.
Here is one of the said 12 second stock SS articles:

It doesn't really, lids might add 5rwhp/5rwtq, nothing huge.
