Default Trans Am Hatch on Base model?

Is this even possible? I was looking at the measurements and it doesn't look like its going to work out but I thought it might be possible and would be an interesting mod. I realize obviously the trans am spoiler is raised but could you juts switch out the whole back hatch?

Awesome would you guys recommend it for an appearance mod? I really hate the look of the base model "spoiler" if you wanna call it that. How much would this cost to do it though?

however much you get the hatch for plus painting it if it doesn't match your car's color. i've seen them as cheap as $150 but more often around $300. here's a formula i saw at indy last summer with a ram air hood and T/A spoiler to give you an idea of how it will look. SLP offered the hatch as an option on the 96-97 firehawk as well. you'll probably need new hatch struts too because the T/A hatch uses a stronger strut and believe me it needs them. those hatches are heavy (i replaced my hatch struts yesterday). i got new struts for $60/pr at autozone. i would recommend getting new ones vs used ones because unless the car is a low mileage one where the owner never used the hatch they will most likely be at the end of their life by now.

There are tons of other options if youd rather set yourself apart from the crowd. Mecham, wings west, E-1. og course the E-1 requires the trans am hatch too.

Swap hatches for a TA spoiler or an IROC. Mecham and wings west offer a addon spoiler that works with the formula hatch (base model).

Mecham and Wings west both offer lip-spoilers which you attach on top of your existing spoiler, meaning you dont have to change your hatch

Mecham base/vert spoiler add on

Wings west add on

Now if you wanted to buy a trans am hatch, and THEN get a custom spoiler, these are most of your options

Mecham Trans Am spoiler

Slp Iroc spoiler

Slp RARE spoiler, i dont even know the name lol

Firebird Evolution Evolution 1 spoiler

Do you guys know how to pop the glass out of these hatches? I just got a nice TA spolier for my firebird but I wanted to know what it would take to put my old glass that is already tinted into the new TA hatch. Confused? Haha but the TA hatch also has a small tear in the rubber around the window that would be replaced if I could swap these two. I really want it more for the tear than the tint. Thanks. Sorry for hijacking
