You need to get a code scanner to go to an Autozone or something and have them scan the code. Then google that code. or go to gearchatter.com and look up the code. That site has troubleshooting steps.

Service vehicle is different from service engine soon. This may sound silly but I'd check all the car lamps to make sure they're working, think I remember a DRL or 3rd brake light bulb out can trigger it.

yeah, its not a motor light. could it be something with the oil change system? im pretty sure my car has an 'oil change' light, but maybe in other years it was 'service vehicle'?
