Question Worth a trade??

Hi guys, this is my first post on LS1tech, I hope I am putting this in the right place! Anyway, what has peaked my interest here is a guy is wanting to trade cars with me. I am an old school SBC guy and thats all I know. I have been wanting to get into an LSX car however. I have an 87 camaro that is all tweaked out with a hot 350, runs 11.90's, no juice. Beefed up 700r4, roll bar, moser 9" rear. Car is carbureted, no air or power steering. Very much a hot rod, literally. He has a 99 T/A, auto, a few bolt on mods like full headers, some suspension goodies, cold air box. Both of the cars look brand new. So...is it worth a trade? How much am I going to have to spend on this LS1 to get it up to 450 horsepower without nitrous? Any feedback is welcome. Thanks for reading!

i would say definatly trade. with bolt-ons, a cam and a tune, you wont be far from 450 crank horsepower. you'll love modern power! plus you can keep all the luxury's and still get into high 11's easy.

Yeah, i knew these LS engines were easily capable, I only wish this car had a 6 speed, but oh well, thats what messing with these things is all about. I do love my old 87 though...

i would trade in a heart beat...

H/C will net you VERY close to 450rwhp... should put you in mid 11s pretty easily on motor.. thats still keeping full weight with ac and all though!

How do you put pics in here? I have some pics of my car in "my garage". Anyway, his car has 100k on it, but that don't bother me that much because I want to eventually pull the motor and do some work on it. The rest of the car looks good, aside from the usual wear spots like the seats, he hasn't kept under the hood clean either, its just nasty under there, nothing a day with a pressure washer and some degreaser couldnt fix.

Thats what everyone thought when I opened the lid on the can...they were like "uh ok...its your car" but everyone agreed...looked better on the car than in the can, and theres nobody elses out there that looks like this. And further news, the guy backed out on me...don't want to trade he wants $$. That I dont have until i unload this car...so if anyone is looking for a gay colored but good looking camaro...hit me up!
