Default HID's on ls1 formula

i want to put hid's on my fog lamps on my 02 formula but i have been told it will melt the lens has this happend to anyone here? thanks for the info in advance

i dont see why it would melt....its not much different from a regular headlight with the hids i doubt they'd melt i know with the newer fords with the fog lights theyve never melted

They WILL melt the fogs...and it wont take long. The only fix is to replace the fogs with glass lensed housings.

I have about an hour of time on my HIDs in my TAs fogs and they are melting. I have 1000Xs as many on my new F350 with the same kits and there not. I think the difference is the the TAs lens is extreamly close to the bulb. And for what its worth some aftermarket halogen bulbs will melt them too.

I had HID's in my fogs for years without any melting issues...but a glass lens is nicer

Take a look at the centers of the lenses and see if they arent discolored and hazing on the inside...thats the melting I am reffering to.
