Yep, they're just concept cars. I might also add that the Firebird was never a sedan.

The red third-gen photo at the top is from the Trans Am Nationals. That car came down from Detroit from the Pontiac collection. The gentleman that heads up Pontiac Historical Services used to bring down a handful of Firebirds from the Pontiac collection and display them at the Trans Am Nationals each year.

The fourth-gen in front of the cornfield is the Hurst Hauler. It went on Power Tour & made the rounds at several car shows. You might end up finding a pic of the car with Linda Vaughn standing in front of it if you search the web. I saw it several years ago at the Trans Am Nationals. I know of at least two separate occassions where that particular car was listed for sale on ebay.

GM did the Silver one first in '78 (I believe?) and later updated it to the '79 front end. I saw it several years ago at the Trans Am Nationals as part of the Pontiac display. The car is a part of the Pontiac collection. I'm a member of the Indy Firebird Club, and our club president got to drive the car over to the Reliable transporter that they were hauling it back to Detroit in.

I remember seeing that bottom car (or one just like it) driving down the road locally back in the early '80s. When I went past it, I remember thinking "WTF was THAT??"

sedan? that would be a station wagon

and yeah i've seen those before. they also did some vette's like that back in the 70s. IIRC ther silver T/A was a prototype for a kammback wagon that GM was actually going to produce until they figured out the cost was going to be ~ $25k. thats a lot of $ when a regular trans am was around $10k.

LOL i was thinking of posting that. i remember as a little kid seeing an orange one in a book and thinking it looked odd.

as for whats in the back of the wagons, i believe its just a larger storage area and the back seat room is exactly the same as a regular T/A.
