Default Apply for Collector's Registration

I just received coverage from Grundy for Collector Car insurance, but now I want to register my car as one to avoid state inspection. (I live in NJ).

One of the requirements for obtaining a Collector Vehicle Registration is this:
Submit a letter from the vehicle manufacturer, recognized car club or a collector organization attesting to the vehicle’s limited production status. Must be printed on official letterhead
How do I do that?? Anyone have any suggestions? I own a 2000 Formula NHRA Edition. It's not like I can get a letter from Pontiac....

Any ideas?

Good idea. I had my T/A under collectors but they wouldn't let me do the Viper. The car qualifies but I have to be 25, ghey.

Looks like it worked out. I didn't have to do much for my Collector License Plate though. When I called the Main Branch in Columbus, they had a "list" of cars that were not made anymore. I told the lady I had a Trans Am and she asked if it was coupe or convertible. Answered coupe and she said okay, plates are on there way. The one catch is that I needed to have another car titled in my name so this wasn't my DD.

I've started on my long road to Collector's Registration! I contacted Pontiac who is going to send me a letter, hopefully it will say the right things. I'm crossing my fingers!

Yes, I know this. That is why I stated in my original post that it "looks like it worked out" due to you guys both being in the same state and you apparently already going through the whole ordeal and offering the PM for details. I was not comparing, just stating what I went though.

Anyways, pretty much the only reason I got a Collector Plate was to avoid emissions testing. We don't even have it in my county, but you never know when they might start it up. Do you guys have a sniff test with collectors plates/vehicles?

If you have collector or classic car registration in NJ you don't have to go through the sniff test. I think they don't have to have a state inspection at all, but I don't know that for sure.

Revived

Does anyone know about California rules on that? I don't want to do the inspections every 2 years.
