Default '99 Trans Am, Front turn signals stay lit?

I just bought a '99 WS6 & noticed that the front signal lights stay lit when the car is running. They do blink just fine when I turn on a signal, but they just stay solid lit when the signal is not on. Is this normal?

Thanks!

Have a short? Though I wouldn't expect it to blink then....

You are talking about the amber lights on the front? If so thats normal, they are the DRL.

Yep, exactly. Great, I just wanted to make sure it was normal & I didn't have some sort of electrical issue.

Thanks!

It is normal, but you will have issues eventually. The DRLs run the turn signal bulbs on bright continuously and the heat causes the socket to scorch. I just installed new turn signal housings and replaced the sockets on both sides and went with LEDs. I'm hoping that fixed the problem. Keep an eye out for condensation inside the lamp housing. It's very common and will happen eventually. Be sure to use dielectric grease on the turn signal bulbs - that will help immensely.
