Default Why 2 piece driveshaft in V6 f-body?

Ive been wondering why my 97 Firebird V6 came with 2 piece driveshaft, is there any reason GM put 2 piece instead of 1 piece like the V8 Birds.

I wondered the same thing as I was ripping the one out of my V6 car during the conversion to LS-power.

My only guess because its, less vibration threw the drive train?!? hmm

Maybe because the V6 cars are more touring instead of performance oriented.
