2002 Firebird with the LS1, went to leave a place after having lunch and noticed my "check gauges" light was on followed by the charging needle showing the car wasn't charging. So I decided I was going try and make it home and minimize using electrical. Came up to a light, threw it in neutral and to hold me there I used the emergency brake versus pressing on the brake pedal. A moment later everything was fine, like turning on a switch the charging gauge was up around 14 or so and the check gauges light was out. Anyone have any ideas?

My positive cable was a little loose the other day on mine and did the same thing.
