Default bringing it back from the dead.

Hi all, this is my first post here on Ls1tech. i have a 2000 trans am covertible red on black, black top. with just under 10k miles on it. it has been sitting for a while due to a head on colision with a pole doing 45.... this car was mint before this happend. after the wreck i did a few repairs enough to get it roling and running. i really want to rebuild this car, i know that the shel itself sustaind serious damage beyond what i can see. my question is this. i have an opourtunity to purchase a 2001 v6 convertible car. what all will be entailed with the engine and trans swap electronics wise. the main front harnes was split, i repaired enough to run, but not right, is everything else the same electricaly besides the engine harness? between firebird and t/a?

Doing a swap into a v6 car would be the fastest and looks like the cheapest way to go. Your car needs a ton of work not to mention i bet it would never ride the same way again , looks like a hard hit and major damage .

It probably depends on the options the v6 car had..not too sure though. If you're interested there's a guy on NH craigslist selling the front half of a red trans am (firewall forward) for fairly cheap that hasn't been damaged or anything.

Not sure this is a good idea. What about the suspension and so many other things that make up a Trans Am? It just won't be the same. I'm afraid you will open yourself up to disappointment along with a major $$$ mistake.

trans am down to a camaro? ... LS1 t/a's & z28's are a dime a dozen. i would just buy another one. much less of a headache trying to swap parts and wiring from one to another and you'll be on the road alot faster
