considering The trans am was discontinued in 2002 and the LS2 was introduced on the 2005 Corvette and GTO, i'm gonna call on the LS2 powered LTZ

there was a rare LT4 fbody in 1997 of which only approx 135 were built (SS and Firehawk models) but no such thing as an LTZ as far as i know. that designation i think was on the caprice and lumina though.

yes it's true... someone took a '93-97 v6 firebird, did an LS1 body swap and put an LS2 under the hood, then called it the LTz

Tell your GFs brother he is an idiot. There were 3 motors that came in Firebirds. LS1, LT1 and LT4.

I'm thinking you should kindly suggest to him to not try to impress you by discussing cars. It's just not working for him

if i can remember right i was looking on a ad and they wanted 450k for a 2000 Camaro LTZ...had a 427 in her..now theses car did not come from factory like this. there was some guys taking band new Camaro's and making them like this..and yes they only made like 500, cuz i would imagine they were not making any money..for example..do you know how ppl are taking the new Camaro and transferring them over to trans am...these guys were doing the same thing but calling them the LTZ Camaro..pretty lame from my thoughts..

Those are ZL1's and they were built by GMMG

LS2's were not a factory option for the F-Bod, EVER. You might also mention to him that "LTZ" would refer to a trim package has nothing to do with the motor.

PS. do it in the middle of X-Mas dinner, nothing like making him look like a moron in front of the whole family

I hate when people try to talk like they know the cars we own and are in love with. That guy sounds like my idiot of a cousin who doesnt know a firebird from a fiero (yes, I am still shaking my head after these years) I call bs on the ls2 ever being an option for the 1998-2002 f bodys. I do know that in 97, GM experimented with the ls1 on some camaros. I dont kno however, if they sold them to general public. some one please back me up. thnx! in conclusion, dont listen to that guy, he dont kno **** and you should def call him out next time he tries to be a jackass
