Imo f-body TA's are still some of the best looking cars on the road. I think they will always be desirable as well. A future classic... With that in mind how would you improve upon factory? I may even do so instead of buying a new $40,000 car and likely end up with a superior car for half the price.

Let me know if you are aware of better mechanical options for mine!

Engine swap - LS1 for a LS3 $7,000
Transmition swap - Tremec T56 for a TR6060 M6 $3,500
Upgrade to 12 bolt rear end $2,500
Full brake upgrade(not sure of best system) $2,500
Full stainless or ti exhaust - Xpipe dumped before axle with some type of muffler. Should make the most power and sound the best. $2,000
19" rims. My favorite 5 stars. $2,000
Lower car $200
WS-6 hood $500
Custom paint - high gloss metallic silver with electric blue TA anniversary strips. Paint the lower rear and front bird blue as well. Strip badges. $4,000
Blue tint lights $200
Black Spec guages $1,500
Leather wrap the interior to completely eliminate the cheap plastic feel. $3,000
Upgrade the stereo system with JL Audio components and a full screen head unit. $1,000

$23,400 for a new custom TA? Maybe I should just buy a WS6 hood, run it into the ground, sell it for $5,000, and use that towards a 02 Viper?

Watt's Link for the rear end will make things quite a lot better.

I'd rather run a custom stainless dual w/ x-pipe out the back with E-cutout at a good spot before cats (if you have to have them). Dumped before axle will make everything rattle.

Don't forget the suspension. The stock shocks are worthless-bolting on a set of $500 Bilstein's will make the car a different animal altogether. Then there's SFC's, etc...

Thanks for tips. I'm honestly considering doing this, but I also want to chase after a 02 Viper GTS ACR.
