1996 V6 Firebird. How can I upgrade it?
I don't want a Trans AM right now, my dad has one all fixed anyway. I was just wondering how can I upgrade it. I don't wanna sell it or anything. I was watching a couple of youtube videos with people with upgraded 3.8L Firebirds.
Can anyone help?

Sale section on this website right? My car is a V6, keep that in mind 3.8L and not 3.4L
So it can't get cammed or supercharged?
What do you recommend for exhaust and gears?

I had a 97 as my first car that i bought stuff for but never put it on as i sold it and moved on to a Z28, i bought the supercharger from the GXP Grand Prix and did extensive research and found out that you can install it on the 3.8
As far as gears/cam go i have no idea, and i put flowcrappers on it and i would have, if i could go back, and changed it anderson put magnaflows instead

These places will have a LOT more V6 info for you. Superchargers are just about out. The one from the factory SC 3800s won't fit without a LOT of other work. The $$ involved in THAT could buy you a V8 swap or a turbo install. Some longtube headers, high flow cats and a V8 cat-back would cover you for exhaust. Some wider rear wheels like some Trans Am wheels (to save $) and some suspension mods will help you stick to the road.

Get a 1997 V6 PCM and then you can tune it or have it tuned with HPTuners. Especially on the automatic cars, you get great seat-of-the-pants gains from a good tune on the V6 cars!

I'd start with spending money on suspension and brakes. Kinda useless to hop up a car if it can't handle any of it.
Swaybar, springs, shocks and get some LS1 brakes.
In the meantime, if you plan on going boosted, buy a second motor and build it up in your garage and do it right the first time.
If the firebird is a daily driver, don't go with any performance mods other than a tune, CAI, catback and headers or it'll leave you with a broken car and no money.

You could also go with a new cam, rocker arms, lifters, pushrods ect. that's what I'm thinking about doing to my v6, buy the time you look into getting money for a turbo kit, you'd be able to buy a crate 350 or a 383 stoker!!!

What I did to my V6 (that already came with 3.42 gears) was:
Suspension (swaybars, subframe connectors, strut tower brace, shocks, springs, panhard bar, rear lower control arms, rear control arm relocation brackets, good tires, custom alignment, GOOD brakes, etc.)
Performance (Whisper lid, stock WS6 catback, 1-piece aluminum driveshaft)
Appearance (hood, spoiler, wheels, other misc. stuff)
.. and later did an LS1 swap because I was constantly pissed that I'd lose my friends as soon as we got out of the twisties and hit the straights.

V8 swap would be expensive as well as a turbo.
What I would do is a stall converter and some rear end gears. I suggest
3:73's. That is if you are an auto. As well as those mods
I would do simple intake and exhaust mods to let the
Car breathe a little. That set up should easily put u from high
15's to low 15's to high 14's in 1/4 mile
