got hit today.
Rear ended today after getting off work an hour late. Anyone think this will be totaled? It looks like the car pretty much crumpled on impact. Everything is "smuched" if you will on the body. Hood was pushed up and down an inch or two, couldn't get it open to disconnected the battery to get my brake lights to turn off so the battery just died. Both sides are dented, as if i got hit on the side but i didn't, straight on from the back and into another car
I drove it home but i was only 2 blocks away, pretty awesome right?
Rear.
pass side.

surprisingly to me the insurance adjuster man?, was out looking at it today. It ended up being towed to a shop where they want to get the hood off and the stuck sub box in the rear, to further document it.

Yeah, you've got a bent unibody. My T/A rode a wall recently and though it's got some torsional twist along the body (wringing it like a dish rag along the length) the right side rail only had a quarter size dimple in the rail.
Those pulls, pinches and dents are classic indication though of the unibody being hit pretty good. Chances are it won't come back..
Even if this looks worse:

well how much money would you get for it?
how much would it be to buy it back?
you could buy it back, then take out the engine/trans and either use it in another vehicle or sell it. you could also sell the interior and anything else.

Thread is alittle old but i wanted to thank everyone for their service towards my trans am over the years. It was great being with you guys and I still float around in this section time to time. It was totaled and I ended up with a 97 Z.
I'll try to help out everyone else with info for their bird in the future.
I miss her dearly Her name was Sasha from a Scrubs episode if anyone is a fan of that. Maybe the upgrades coming for the Z will help the pain. Oh I had good insurance on the car thank goodness but only ended up with a grand to play with, minus deductible. She still had a loan.
