Ls1 Interior in a LT1?

Pontiac made a few changes, mainly pertaining to the center console in 97, gauges in 97 and different interior shades through the years the cars were built. I have been converting mine to ebony from the 00-02 cars, every things a direct swap over. Not sure how far your looking to take it, steering wheel as well? It's not going to be a dramatic change like the Camaros where the entire dash is different from 93-96 to 97-02.
My Conversion
Interior Panels - Direct Swap
Steering Wheel - If you want ebony, air bag clock springs needs to be changed to a newer style, older 95-99 style the air bag plugs in the same. Radio control plugs are the same, how ever it will not control your stock 93 radio, it needs a newer style radio. See radio for details.
Radio - 93s a bastard year, with it's own specific radio. A newer style radio will work how ever you will loose steering wheel controls. Your steering wheel control wires are separate from the main harness and on their own in the 93s, it's a single one blue wire on it's own clip. The 94+ cars GM moved it to the top connector on the main radio harness. I bought a reverse radio harness and rewired just that top connector on to a new one with the radio harness wire so the radio harness is just like a 94+ would be. The end result is I can use my Monsoon head unit with my 93 radio controls.
Center Console -Both trans will be a direct Swap
Door Panels - Direct Swap, see speakers for tweeter details. LS1 door panels tend to crack, I was lucky to find sets that didn't have that crack.
Speakers - It's only going to matter for your tweeters and your rear hatch speaker, the front doors and sails are bolted to the car. The LS1 Monsoon stuff wont work, so your going to need to go after market or swap your LT1 stuff in.
Seats - I kept my LT1 era seats, back seats are interchangeable though.
Carpet- Keep in mind the later LS1 car had restraints for newer style car seats, so your going to have two holes in the hatch area.
Dash - I am about to do the conversion on this to an ebony dash, the shells are very similar and a direct swap. Your going to how ever need a newer 97+ dash cap. 93-96 is different from 97+ up for what ever reason.

You must have seen a very early production car, did it have the bezel around and the newer style font on the numbers? My friend had a 30th Anniv 97 Z28, it was pretty nuts because the car actually had a 97 dash and cluster like all 97s did, but the odometer was analog. Only one I have ever seen like that. I actually have a promotional Brickyard poster from Chevrolet, it's dated 1996 but has a 30th anniv Z28 in the art work. Thinking his may have been a very early production car that got sent to a big dealers for display and sale early, because I remember meeting some one who bought an LT4 SS from the same dealer. The place was a rip off but it was a high volume Chevy store/criminal enterprise, a lot of dealers like that would get unique cars earlier than others I guess as rewards because they had such high sales volumes.

My 97 T/A also had an analog cluster. Build date Sept 96.
It is a strange thing... some things are 97+ compatible, some things aren't. For instance I had the 97+ center console.
