Default gettin ready to set my 98 ws6 on fire!!

So im in the middle of giving it a tuneup..this is the first time im changing the plugs on my 98 WS6..the #8 plug is pissin me off..its impossible to get out! ive tried from the top, bottom, and everywhere inbetween..wats ur guys suggestions on getting this plug out??? do i need to take all the A/C tubes out to get from top?? or exhaust manifold from bottom?? or is this unnecessary? Bout ready to toss a match on it and turn in to insurance company lol

If it's the same as my 2000, take off the coil packs and EGR & AIR tubes. Then you can reach them all from the top. It's still not easy, but if my ham fists can do it, anyone can.

LOL oh i see. Its pissin you off so your gonna kill it. Thought maybe there would be a totaly spontanious car fire on ls1tech

Take a coil pack off or 2. I wouldnt touch the ac lines. You just have to get in there with some sockets, extentions, and just get your hands smashed up.
8 is a pita. I have it easy now because I deleted my a/c, air, and I have lts

As funny sounding as the granade under the hood sounds. I will drive up from texas tomarrow to take her off your hands. It aint that far, do it acouple times yearly to central il. Hang in there and listen to these guys they have helped me a time or two from doing the same as you want to do.

LMAO

Well if you dont mind charging the system up again then pull the ac lines. When I had ac on my car and past cars (3 ls1s) I was always able to get to the plugs. First time is always a pita. You kinda have to get creative with the fingers just like if you were to get the old lady off (lol)
Keep at it man you will get it. I have some swivel join knuckle sockes, swivel socket, and different extentions that got the job done.

I have always had luck from the top with a swivel (universal) adapter
on the socket. this gave enough room from the headers to break it loose and get it out, since the heater box prevents the 3" extension from being used.

ya thats what i ended up using...i had to put the spark plug socket on the plug by hand..then stick the wrench down there and stick it on the socket..that worked like a charm! the universal head made all the difference

Mental note for next time: having just done it you should have a clear shot at it from the left side of the catalytic converter coming in from the bottom. We couldn't get #8 from the top and since we had in on a lift, looking underneath that was the easiest way to get at it :-)

I have always used a 1/4 " ratchet and taken the coils off.
It is sooooo much easier with headers than with the stock manifolds on.

Good luck with the exhaust
